I love coming home every day to be surrounded by family mementoes, comfortable furniture, and my family. I can’t imagine what it would be like not to have these cherish possessions or worse, not to have a home. Sadly, countless families across the nation are homeless.

I choose to make a difference in the fight to end homelessness. For many years I have been involved with Homestretch, www.homestretch-inc.org, a non-profit organization in Falls Church, Virginia that provides homeless families with a variety of needed services:

  • Subsidized housing and free utilities
  • Intensive case management
  • Employment services; job training;
  • Credit counseling, money management, financial literacy and savings program; free tax preparation;
  • ESL classes; GED tutoring; tutoring and mentoring for children; computer literacy; Life Skills classes; parenting help
  • Health and wellness training; substance abuse counseling; domestic violence education and support; psychotherapy
  • Transportation assistance; legal assistance; onsite child care and free or subsidized child care for working parents;
  • Micro-loans; CDL classes
  • Access to free food and clothing.
  • If you’d like to make a difference, here’s an easy way.
